Whilest hauling our few potted to-mah-to plants around the backyard, I happened to knock loose one red, simple, wee little baby.
Oh, no sense wasting it.

Hooray for the first tomato of the season.
Oh … uh … and about that Christmas trip blog post. My dog ate it.
Here’s another pic I came across. Using only the power of my furrowed brow, I was in fact able to bend the laws of physics to fit one … more … bag in the boot. Howzat.

In fact, it is. Cyclone Funa is saying its soggy farewells as it cruises towards its Southern retirement. Anna has disappeared to Kaikoura for the week. Supposedly it’s for work, but … hey, why’d she pack her swim suit?
This is all to say I should have plenty of time to finally wrap up that whole “Christmas trip” blog thingy. Sigh.
Luckily, my photo hard drive has suffered a little senior moment, so no photos. And really, who wants to actually read about our vacation?

My Christmas Vacation
by Aaron
For my Christmas Vacation, I went for a drive around South Island. A loooong drive around South Island. It was such a long drive, Anna and I brought her parents along to entertain us.
Such a long drive, in fact, that the first attempt at a travelogue blog post quickly ballooned into the great American novel.
So, while I’m out back binding the advance copies and mailing them to you, my three faithful readers, here are some entertaining pictures.

Say hi to the snow for us!
