Happy Fourth!

For me, nothing says the Fourth of July like damp, sodden snow, piddling rain and temperatures right around freezing.



On the plus side … short sleeves for Christmas!

    1. Looks like good grill out weather to me!
    2. Advantages to such weather on the 4th:
    a. The potato salad at the potluck picnic does not get lethal nearly as quickly!
    b. The mosquitoes are less frisky
    c. Lawn and garden chores do not need to interfere with festivities
    d. There are fewer local restrictions on fireworks–and no need to prepare the anticipatory bucket of water.
    e. No worries about fitting into your swim suit at the backyard (or community) pool.
    f. Fewer sun-screen outages due to last minute panic purchasing.
    (shoot only four more and I can make Letterman!–come on brain, don’t quit now…aw, jeez…) OK, OK, wait a minute I’ve got another
    g. The humidity doesn’t wilt the streamers on your child’s decorated-for-the-Fourth, bicycle. (yeah, that might be weak given what said streamers would look like in this photo)
    h.Oh, Oh, yeah, that’s another one: No need to come up with the appropriate excuse to avoid the 100k Celebrate-the-Fourth bike ride.
    i. Fewer accidents are caused by overindulging in hot cider than cold beer.
    Let’s see, I could make Lawn care and garden chores into two separate categories, and Id have my 10…No, wait! I’ve got it:
    j. There’s less beach sand to clean out of the car at the end of the week-end.
