Modern Fathering
It has recently come to my attention that girls like to do things with their hair. This comes as a surprise to me.
Nevertheless, in the spirit of modern parenting, I thought I’d give these so-called “hair accessories” a try.
There. That should do.

My high school self is cringing at the early indoctrination into gender norms as exemplified by the emphasis on fashion and appearance, not to mention the color pink. My more mellow present day self finds the bow pretty damn adorable.

Hmmm: looks like she has her grandfather’s very fine, thin hair–could be a problem depending on what fashion demands. But she probably does not need to worry about that until, say, kindergarten.
