Eel petting
Once, long ago, we went to the Selwyn A&P Show and experienced the grandeur of the show life.
We recently took the Grizzly Bear to her first A&P show. The sights were, in a word, identical to two years ago. Sheep, cows, tractors, bad carnie food. And eel petting!

Yes, it’s a tractor pull.

Those tractors look like something Miyazaki looked at before designing Howl’s castle. And good thing the eels weren’t the electric kind. Just saying.
Any sheepdog trials? Those are my favorite part.

OK, let me explain something to youse guys. R e a l s l o w l y: Read my lips–Alpacas are like background. Under no circumstances are they to be allowed to be larger than the star. Unknown childrens’ backsides–Uh, no. And tractors are just nyet, nada, nichts! Orange sleeve? Half a leg? –focus, dudette! EM–front and center. It’s that simple. Don’t you remember Bob Newhart’s comedy skit–What happens when the gumdrops are all gone? (Anyway, enjoyed the carnie photos–there something special about “real” events that have not been overcommercialized–yet.
